The hotel also offers a shuttle bus, but you need to book this. It is situated at the bottom of a steep road, but the local bus stop is about 200 metres away (through the tunnel) and there is a frequent service into Sorrento. True, as with all areas of the hospitality sector, it has suffered through Covid, but is now undergoing redecoration and repair. The hotel is not modern and bland, but has a certain faded elegance and is reminiscent of a bygone age.

It is well worth paying for a sea view room. The hotel is at the foot of the cliff and has a fabulous view across the bay of Naples towards the island of Ischia and the Marina Piccolo in Sorrento. We've just returned from a lovely week at Mar Hotel Alimuri, Meta, close to Sorrento.
